The NFL has had many situations with their players using steroids. There is 30 percent of college and NFL players using steroids like anabolic steroids. Players are not allowed to use steroids in the NFL, steroids have been banned. The case of Denver Broncos defensive lineman Lyle Alzado notably exposed in the beginning of NFL players. In the years of his life as he went through with brain tumor that was the reason of his death when he was 43. Steroids have been a serious issue with the NFL mainly with the big defensive men. It has been reported that 182 players since the 1960s have been tested positive for steroids. Football was the first to ban steroids in 1983 and the first to suspend players in 1989. The NFL stated that football users in many cases offensive lineman typically do not get as much individual recognition as baseball players and therefore a certain level of anonymity may affect the public's perception.
